Building Capabilities for AI-enabled economies

The future economy will not be limited by technology. It will be limited by human capability.

Technology is advancing at an extraordinary pace. Artificial intelligence, automation and digital tools are transforming how businesses operate.

But tools alone do not build thriving organisations.

People do.

Leadership, judgment, creativity, adaptability and courage are what turn opportunity into progress. These are the capabilities that allow businesses to navigate uncertainty, make better decisions and build something meaningful.

Yet too many small business leaders are expected to figure this out alone.

While large organisations invest heavily in leadership development, strategy and digital capability, many small businesses are left to navigate complexity without the same support.

Sam believes this must change.

Small businesses are the backbone of thriving communities, innovation and economic resilience. When small business leaders grow in capability, the impact extends far beyond their own organisations; creating jobs, opportunity and stronger local economies.

The Capability Era

Sam helps small business leaders access the kind of leadership development once reserved for corporate executives, redesigned for the real pace, pressure, and potential of small business in the Capability Era.

Human, Business & Digital

In her 20+ year global career as an International Sales & Marketing Director, Sam developed strategic partnerships in all but two countries, managed multiple mergers and acquisitions and was fundamental to successful digital transformations. She is part of the transition generation (often referred to as a ‘Xennial’) who transitioned imperial to metric, analogue to digital and who learned to code whilst she was still learning to spell.

Her multifaceted background and skills and ability to lead for change is what fuels 25eight’s ability to create meaningful outcomes for their clients.

At the heart of Sam’s work is a simple belief:

When people are given the right knowledge, tools and support, they are capable of far more than they often realise.

Sam is passionate about making high-quality, real capability-building programs more accessible and knows that it is not just about business or technology, it’s about the human and leadership that determines successful outcomes.

For time-poor business leaders, these programs need to be immediately relevant, not take too long and be tailored specifically to their situation in order to get the greatest chance of success.

Ultimately, her goal is to help people help themselves, building stronger businesses, stronger communities and a more resilient economy.

In our world of accelerated change, she wants to ensure no one gets left behind.

Why capabiity building?

The future of education lies not in information delivery but in capability development.

In a world where information is abundant and AI tools are becoming widely accessible, the real differentiator for businesses is the capability of leaders to:

  • think strategically and creatively

  • adapt to change

  • integrate new technologies

  • make confident decisions in uncertain environments

25eight programs are therefore designed to move beyond knowledge transfer and focus on helping business leaders develop the practical capabilities required to implement meaningful change.

Human Capability

As artificial intelligence continues to reshape industries, our research consustently shows that the greatest challenge facing many SMEs is not access to technology, but the capability to use it effectively.

AI has the potential to dramatically increase productivity and innovation.

However, without the right strategic thinking, leadership capability and digital fluency, many businesses struggle to translate technological opportunity into real outcomes.

Our work increasingly focuses on helping business leaders develop the human capabilities required to thrive alongside rapidly advancing technologies.

Strategy isn’t a swearword

As the saying goes, a goal without a plan is just a wish. You may dream of business success, but there always seems to be another hurdle.

60% of businesses* in Australia will fail in their first five years. The most common reason for failure is how the business is managed and its strategy. This applies even if you’ve been around 10 years; if you haven’t got a strategy that helps deal with rapid change, you could be another addition to that statistic.

Even if you have a good strategy, you need to be able to execute it effectively.

The World Economic Forum notes that strategy remains critical, not as a static, long-term plan, but as a dynamic, "living" framework that anchors execution in a volatile operating environment.

In 2026, strategy is essential because it bridges the gap between AI adoption, structural economic shifts, and the need for operational efficiency.

Your strategy is also you taking charge of where you want your business to go, leading it, rather than being led.

Be the leader your business needs

A lack of strategy or poor execution is often due to knowledge and skills gaps. You don’t know what you don’t know, right?!

What if you were guided to develop your leadership knowledge, skills and confidence to help you make those strategic decisions and drive the execution of your plan effectively?

You could focus on the skills you need now, such as strategic thinking, digital fluency, operational efficiencies, transformative leadership. Be supported to apply them immediately for instant feedback and fast skill acquisition.

In the past, you would have to attend Business School or pay for expensive and ongoing Executive coaching. Sam wanted to change that, to level the playing field, so that everyone has equal chance to thrive.

Technology as an enabler

Sam was integral to transforming digital imagery delivery in the late 1990s, leveraging wireless technology to redefine customer experiences. As the sales and marketing lead, she uniquely bridged technical insights with customers needs, driving rapid adoption.

Fast forward to today and she heads 25eight’s R&D efforts and has been working with the team since 2020 using artificial intelligence to enable 25eight to support SMEs at scale.

She’s also a bit of an automation queen, believing that most repetitive action can (and should) be automated so that the human resources can be used for the ‘thinking’ work.

Hear from those who’ve worked with Sam

“Sam helped me to get clarity on where I wanted my business to be and what I should focus on to get there. In the six months since starting and completing the program, I’ve undergone two significant changes which I wouldn’t have been ready for. The business is leaner, but with capacity to do more business with less expenses and, most importantly, fewer things for me to work on.

A great program run by a great coach. Broken down into good-sized portions that you apply immediately ”

— Steve, Relax Home Loans

“The timing of the program was perfect relative to the stage of the business. The 1:1 sessions with Sam and the online learning were all pivotal in providing me with relevant tools, learnings and confidence. The group sessions were interactive with participation from all which provided a very enjoyable experience. In my sessions with Sam, we were able to drill down on exactly what to work on and she provided such amazing advice and suggestions, resources and recommendations on how to do this.”

— Colleen, Soul Fields Pty Ltd

“I was lucky enough to be part of the program with the beautiful Sam from 25eight.
All I can say is a HUGE THANK YOU. This came at the exact time I needed it. I feel it has allowed me to define my purpose more, identify my ideal target audience, define my brand and brand values and has allowed me to become super focused on what I need to do to grow my business with solid foundations. I can't wait to continue my learning with a company that is genuinely invested in helping business.
Thank you!
